Count on Midwest Audio Visual for Expert Projection and Sound System Installation

When purchasing a new projection system in Cincinnati, proper installation is paramount. At Midwest Audio Visual, we follow a seven-step process:

1. Planning and preparation

First, we determine the purpose of the system and the environment. Then, we assess your needs in terms of

  • resolution,
  • brightness
  • and connectivity, along with
  • a compatible screen,
  • mount and
  • audio equipment (if needed).

Next, we measure the room and identify the best location for the projector and screen.

2. Mounting

Collaborating with each Midwest AV Cincinnati-area client, we decide whether the projector will be mounted on the ceiling, placed on a table or installed on a shelf.

Part of this process is ensuring the screen is positioned to project an image of the right size and aspect ratio.

For a ceiling mount, we secure the mount to a beam, joist, or use unistrut then attach the projector. For tabletop or shelf installations, we ensure the surface is stable and level.

3. Connecting Components

Step 3 is connecting the projector to your source devices using the appropriate cables.

If external speakers are being used, Midwest installers then connect them to the projector or an audio receiver, depending on the setup.

4. Power and Testing

Now it’s time to power up! We connect the projector and other devices to power sources, turn everything on and test the connections.

Every Midwest installer takes the time needed to configure the projector’s settings for optimal image quality.

5. Calibration and Fine-Tuning

We use the projector’s settings to align and resize the image, checking for and correcting any distortions or color issues.

6. Final Checks and Clean Up

Almost done! Before we go, we make sure all cables are neatly organized and secured to prevent tripping hazards.

Then we check for obstructions.

7. Training

Your Cincinnati Midwest Audio Visual install team will provide a 1-3 page Quick Reference Guide on how to operate the system, and provide group training to your staff and support personnel if needed.

Installing a sound system correctly

Our process for sound system installation is similar:

  2. choose appropriate components such as:
    • speakers (on-wall, flown from ceiling, and/or in-ceiling)
    • amplifiers
    • subwoofers, and
    • any additional audio sources (streaming devices, etc),
  3. assess the room’s dimensions and acoustics,
  4. select the placement for speakers, receivers and sources,
  5. install the speakers,
  6. connect all components,
  7. power up and configure the components,
  8. make final checks, clean up, then
  9. provide training sessions on how to use the system.
